CEREDIGION SQUAD QUALIFYING TIMES

The Ceredigion Squad has been set up to give swimmers in Ceredigion the opportunity to supplement their club training time thus enabling them to follow the Long Term Athlete Development framework. The number of recommended training hours are clearly identified and all swimmers who wish to reach their true potential would need to consider the number of hours that they spend training. Added to this are the advantages of being able to train with other swimmers, of a similar ability in the county.

In order to gain entrance into the squad you would need to achieve the qualifying time for your age as it is at the 31st December of the current year. To obtain entry into the squad for the following year you would need to achieve the qualifying time for your age at the 31st December of that year.

New Qualifiers

e.g If you are eleven on the 31st December 2006, you would need to achieve any of the qualifying times for the eleven year old, by the 31st December 2005 for entry into the squad in January 2006. If you achieve the appropriate qualifying time during the year you can gain immediate entry into the squad.

Existing members

Existing members are expected to achieve the qualifying times as these your times are monitored during the year.

Please speak to the coach if you feel that you will not be meeting the qualifying time or have any other questions.

Please note, when you achieve a qualifying time, you will need to provide a result sheet, showing the competition date and time achieved, for you to apply for entry into the squad.
